Nokia Has a New CEO, Former Microsoft Employee, Stephen Elop

Out with the old and in with the new, that seems to be the motto of Nokia these days. The company has finally decided to replace its CEO and bring in some new blood that can reshape the direction the company is heading towards.

To blame for the change is the poor performance Nokia is having in the smartphone business where Apple and Google have succeeded to win the hearts and pockets of worldwide consumers. And Nokia wants to change all of that with the help of a former Microsoft exec that goes by the name of Stephen Elop.

Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo has been with Nokia since 1982 and will have to leave as CEO and President but will keep heading the board of the Nokia Siemens Networks in a non-executive capacity according to Nokia. We'll definitely be interested to see what Stephen Elop will bring to the company and how Nokia will do with him at the helm in the following years.
